Warsaw Pact's Original Members (plus German Dem Rep)
The Warsaw Pact was an organization of communist states in Central and Eastern Europe established in 1955 with the treaty being signed in Warsaw, Poland. It was initiated by the Soviet Union in response to the NATO Treaty which was established in 1949 (with most of the Western World signing up). There were seven initial members with the German Democratic Republic joining up a year later. In no particular order.....
