Newsletter 12 -

Forget the Easter bunny, Sir Linkalot's bunny is the way forward.

The sun is out, the flowers are blooming (or should that be 'the blooming flowers' - a gardener, I am not) and there's a whiff of freshly cut grass........arrrrrrrrrr, bliss! Unfortunately, there's a price to pay for all that....5 hours on a bank holiday Monday sweating my proverbials off, cursing the lawnmower, getting yelled at for traipsing through the house with soiled shoes,  blocking the shower with a ridiculous amount of grass hidden in crevices that I didn't even realise existed on my excuse for a body and half a dozen scratches on my follicularly-challenged bonce, courtesy of the over-hanging brambles. It's a close call but being a slappy just gets the gig, as the annual overheads (excuse the pun) are minimal....one bottle of shampers and Bob's your Unclely Wunkerly (I bought a set of shears 10 years ago, my best ever investment). But, having moved to the country from the Smoke, every low doorway I bump into has a  'zero tolerance' policy and I end up looking like I've gone 15 rounds with Mr M Ali  (the Mali/Bamako link is different gravy by the way www.thinkalink.co.uk/thinkalink/view/mali-bamako). I also came out with the rookie mistake of donning my shorts yesterday because of Monday's scorcher and shivered myself silly. So at 9.20am, I swallowed the old pride and got the slacks back on. I'm normally an 'April to October' man for wearing the Eric Morecambe's so there's still time. Apologies, as all this has zip to do with linking but I've got no mates to talk to...down on the farm.

Update

There is some good news for Linky which is probably bad news for the general public. There's a guy called Phil Beadle who won the 2004 Best UK teacher award and was on a Channel 4 documentary, recently, called 'The Unteachables' - The Uk's most inspirational teacher (The Times). He's just setting up a company called Inspired Education and he wants me to be his first associate which is top news! Sir Linkalot 'at large' in his clapped out Robin Reliant spreading the joy of linking to anyone who cares to listen. On one side of the van, it will say 'Is it in?' and you can guess the rest. Poor England, it hasn't got a cat's. I am also now linked to the busiest website in the country (if not the world!) with over 32,000 members who are, of course, potential linkers. www.quizzing.co.uk is the chappie. Whilst I have you, there are just 17 World Capitals left to do (out of the 220 or so puppies that are in existence) and my plan is to get them linked by the weekend which is when I'm going into Eton to giv' it sum' to the 500 floppy-haired freakshows (I'm only jealous). So, any help would be appreciated. Here are the bad boys in question.....Dominican Republic/Santo Domingo, Botswana/Gaborone, Gabon/Libreville, Papua New Guinea/Port Moresby, Timor-Leste/Dili, American Virgin Islands/Charlotte Amalie, St Helena/Jamestown, St Vincent & the Grenadines/Kingstown, Mayotte/Mamoudzou, St Kitts & Nevis/Basseterre, American Samoa/Pago Pago (quality), Tonga/Nuku'alofa, Kiribati/Tarawa, Turks & Caicos/Grand Turk, Palau/Melekeok, Nauru/Yaren (de facto) and Montserrat/Brades (de facto).

Your chance to get involved

The site is a meeting-place for linkers & learners alike. So if you have a link for anything, absolutely anything, regardless of how random the fact is, then submit it and let's see what the boys and girls think. If it's an uber link then it will go in the book (as will your name).

Feedback

I would love to get your thoughts and observations on the site, good or bad. This has been a passion of mine since 1995 and it's finally come to fruition which is hugely exciting. It's new territory for me so any guidance or tips on what does and doesn't work will be warmly received - please let me know at  andy.salmon@thinkalink.co.uk

Top Linkers

Congratulations to the following 10 linkers for having the highest average score, per link, for March.

The linker in the number 1 spot, come Dec 31st, will be crowned Champion Linker for 2009 and receive a trophy. Bear in mind that this is how you will be known in the book. So it maybe worth changing your user name to your real name & city to prove to your friends that it is actually you!
